Eyesight Team,
October 2007
The team was able to see over 270 people and all heard the
gospel. There have been seekers that have come from this trip who are more
interested in God and what His Word says. Can you make a difference? The answer
is YES....praying about coming and being apart of God's Work
with the Samogho.
Julia (Jeneba)- This was by far the best mission trip I have ever experienced! I feel God handpicked everyone of us to be on this team. I thank God, He called me. I was so blessed so many times on this trip. It was amazing to see Lori Price interact with all the people in the village.
Mitch (Musa)- Building a relationship with So, a man in the village was the most meaningful part of my trip. My prayer from the beginning was to build and model Christ for him. At the end So put his arm around my shoulder and beat his chest twice and pointed back to me. This was to indicate that we were friends and in each other's hearts. I also saw God's will prevail when satan had opportunity to have his way in my life. That was BIG!
Denise (Fatimata)- This experience made me realize that I need to get closer to God, to evaluate my relationship to Him and make changes.
Doctor Mark (Marka)- The most difficult part of the trip for me was examining people that I could not help like the girl who became blind and deaf because of an illness. She had no way to see or hear about Jesus. I enjoyed working with Lori Price who put her all in all for the people.
Donna (Matu)- God showed me that if I obey Him, He can use me. He showed me He is there for me and that He will give me boldness and help to share my testimony.
Chris (Adama)- The most
memorable experience was the nightly community time because it was like there
was only and "us", not an "us" and "them". I
saw God working in the unexpected and unanticipated. What He showed me in
the unexpected is that if I am obedient to go, He will be faithful to show
me Himself. I need to be more observant of where God is working and join Him.
God does not expect me to have all the answers, but to serve, to share, and
to remain before Him with a humble and contrite spirit. there are no barriers
that He cannot overcome, for there is nothing impossible with Him.
You would think going to Africa and telling others about the love of God would be the greatest highlight of my life. I must admit it is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done, no doubt about that. There is something; however, even more incredible than that. Something nothing can compare to--my salvation. At a young age I realized God loved me and that the sin in my life separated me from Him.
God created all of us to have a personal relationship with Him and to
spend eternity with Him. Sin came into the world and separated us from
God and
God’s Word also says that the wages of sin is death.
Since God loves us so much He chose to offer His Son Jesus Christ as a sacrifice
for our sins, to bridge the gap between sinful people and Himself. There
is no magic. There is no being good enough, no being worthy enough. The price
for salvation has already been paid. Whether you decide to accept this gift
of sacrifice or not is up to you.
All it takes is for you to realize and acknowledge you are a sinner in need of a bridge to get you to God. This bridge is salvation. God' s Word says in Romans 10:9-10: "If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved."
It is my prayer that the greatest highlight of your life is having Jesus
Christ as your personal Savior. If you have not accepted this gift, you can
do it today. Without Jesus there is nothing.
Thanks
Lori
