Lori Price:

Being raised in church and learning at a early age of God’s love, faithfulness and guidance. I believed my life was open to God to do what He felt was necessary to glorify Himself. At the age of 32 my life was good. I had it all if you looked through the world’s glasses. Great job, home, lived close to family, and church life was great as well. All was good in my world.
I had a supervisor with whom I was able to have open communication. We talked about professional and personal aspects of each other's lives. One day he called me into his office and asked a weird question. His question-- "Do you have any goals?” I was sitting on top professionally and personally. What would make me think about goals at this time in my life? I was satisfied. I thought it was crazy to think about goals when things were going so well. I then turned to God and thought I would give Him the opportunity to tell me how wonderful my life was and that I was right to have no goals for now. Don’t you just love talking to God when you know all is good and He won’t do anything to mess things up? He wants control of every moment in our lives.

During this same time I was honored to teach a group of women at my home church using a Bible study called Experiencing God. The very next session after this conversation with my supervisor I taught a lesson on adjustment. I proudly presented to the group we, mostly meaning them of course, have to adjust at times to experience God. While preparing to teach this session it was laid on my heart someone in the group was about to make some major adjustments. I just did not know who so I shared this with the group. We began to pray to see who it was.

Within two weeks, to my surprise I found out it was ME… God wanted me to turn my life over to Him and go either to Seminary or overseas to share the Good News. All doors closed to school and within a year I was in West Africa serving a two year term from 1997-99. Knowing that I wanted this is be more than a two year commitment, I returned to the States, attended Southwestern Seminary and graduated in 2001. I returned to West Africa in July, 2001 as Career in Mali with the Samogho people.

God has done amazing things in my life because I was willing to adjust, go and tell. I am not the best one to come over here and share, but I do not have to be.... God is good enough for all of us. If God is asking you to adjust, go and tell I pray that you will not deny Him the opportunity to use you to glorify Himself. Do not miss out on getting to know Him more.
